David completed the Iowa Writers’ Workshop selective summer fiction program. He was a finalist for the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award for his short story “Sweetheart” and for Sunspot Literary Journal’s Rigel Short Story Contest for “Eclipse,” with his work appearing in both their award journals. He’s also been longlisted for the Leapfrog Global Fiction Prize, Ireland’s Write By The Sea Writing Competition, and The Queen Mary New Writing Prize from Wasafiri, the UK’s leading magazine for international contemporary writing. His short story “Can I Help You, Miss?” was awarded third prize in Uncharted Magazine’s short story contest judged by New York Times Notable Book author Matt Bell. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
